 ly\, high-entropy oxides (HEOs)\, a novel class of compounds\, have shown 
 potential to revolutionize material science. Unlike traditional materials\
 , HEOs are complex solid solutions with multiple elements in the same latt
 ice site. This new material concept offers numerous degrees of freedom\, a
 nd hence opportunities for property fine-tuning\, and emerging functionali
 ties. The largely unexplored field of HEOs holds significant potential for
  pioneering advancements in sustainable energy technologies. However\, key
  questions about their synthesis\, ion mixing limitations\, controllabilit
 y\, formation\, and performance remain.
