DESCRIPTION:Reactivity of Amido-Substituted Silicon Ring and Cluster Compo
 unds\n\nIn my talk different synthetic pathways to unsaturated amido-subst
 ituted silicon ring and cluster compounds will be introduced. The silicon 
 clusters feature unsubstituted atoms that we want to exploit for activatio
 n of strong bonds in small molecules such as NH3\, BH3\, CO2\, H2\, MeOH a
 nd alkenes and alkynes. By modifications of the steric and electronic prop
 erties of the amido substituent we can access different silicon ring clust
 ers compounds with diverse electronic properties. For instance\, we recent
 ly reported on a six-vertex silicon cluster with zwitterionic character th
 at represents an unexpected isomer of hexasilabenzene. This cluster reacts
  with MeI and I2 and coordination of a carbene and BH3 is possible.
