Radical Chain and Photocatalyzed Reactions

The lecture will focus on recently developed radical reactions involving either chain or photocatalyzed processes. Different approaches for radical generation will be presented. For instance, the carbofunctionalization of alkenes using halides and related radical precursors will be shown. In a different context, a mild and simple protocol for the synthesis of N-arylated tropane and homotropane derivatives from cyclic amines will be presented. Finally, the presentation will focus on a new approach to generate a broad range of alkyl radicals from sulfones.
