Signage
We have put up signs with the Sympo logo at street corners, bus stops and the car park around the Lecture Hall Centre to help you find your way.
on foot from the Bonn Central Station
It is about a 15-minute walk from Bonn Central Station to the Poppelsdorf campus. -> Walking route
- Take the ‘Quantiusstraße’ exit at the central station.
- At the top, turn right and follow 'Quantiusstrasse'.
- At the next junction, go straight ahead; the street is then called 'Colmantstrasse'. Follow this road.
- Cross 'Beethovenplatz'; the street immediately after it has the same name. Follow it; it merges into 'Endenicher Allee', which you should also follow.
- Turn left into 'Nussallee'.
- After 160 metres, turn right into 'Reinhard-Selten-Strasse'.
- The Poppelsdorf Lecture Hall Centre is located about 180 metres further on, on the right-hand side, on a large square.
by public transport to the Lecture Hall Centre
At the central station, follow the signs for the ‘bus station’.
- From bus platform A1: Take bus routes 602 or 603 towards ‘Uniklinik Sued’, “Waldau” or ‘Roettgen Schleife’.
- Get off at the ‘Am Botanischen Garten’ stop.
- From platform E: take bus routes 604, 605, 606 or 607 towards ‘Ückesdorf’, ‘Duisdorf Bahnhof’ or ‘Malteser-Krankenhaus’.
- Get off at the ‘Kaufmannstrasse’ stop.

by car to the Lecture Hall Centre
From the A565, take the Poppelsdorf exit
- onto 'Reuterstrasse' towards the B9/Bad Godesberg.
- Turn right at the first set of traffic lights onto 'Jagdweg',
- turn right into 'Sternenburgstrasse',
- turn right into 'Carl-Troll-Strasse',
- turn left into 'Campusallee'.
From the A562, take the Bonn-Zentrum exit
- Take the B9 towards Bonn city centre.
- At 'Bundeskanzlerplatz', keep left onto 'Reuterstrasse'.
- After about 2 km, turn left onto 'Jagdweg' (PLEASE NOTE: If you miss this turn, take the second right onto the street called ‘Am botanischen Garten’; otherwise you will end up back on the motorway!!!)
- Turn right into 'Sternenburgstrasse',
- turn right into 'Carl-Troll-Strasse',
- turn left into 'Campusallee'.
Parking
- If you continue along 'Campusallee', there is a car park on the left.
- From there, it is a 200-meter walk to the Lecture Hall Centre
the area Poppelsdorf
Within walking distance of the Lecture Hall Centre are
- various restaurants, cafés and shops -> Walking route to zur Clemens-August-Strasse
- Poppelsdorf Palace, home to the University’s Mineralogical Collection, and the Botanical Garden next to it. -> Walking route to Meckenheimer Allee
BBQ in Endenich
- address: Chemical Instituts, Gerhard-Domagk-Strasse 1, 53121 Bonn
- on foot: You can reach the Chemical Instituts in about 20 minutes on foot. -> Walking route
- public transportation: A bus ride takes about as long as the walk.
- car: If you’d like to bring your car, you can park it just to the left of the institutes. Your day ticket is also valid there, by the way. The journey takes about 10 minutes. It’s just a few meters across the car park to the BBQ. -> Route
- public transport after the BBQ:
- Take bus 631 from ‘Gerhard-Domagk-Strasse’ (towards 'Robert-Schuman-Platz')
- and change at ‘Auf dem Huegel’, platform D, to bus 609 from ‘Auf dem Huegel’, platform A (towards 'Gielgen')
- A 10-minute walk to the 611 bus stop at ‘Am Propsthof’ (towards 'Pappelweg')
