Welcome to the Krbek Group
We are an Emmy Noether junior research group led by Dr. Larissa von Krbek at the Kekulé-Institute for Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Bonn.
The Krbek group is interested in developing and investigating out-of-equilibrium supramolecular systems. We focus on metallo-supramolecular complexes and cages which are either driven by chemical or photochemical "fuels".
Broadly, the Krbek Group's research interests include:
- Supramolecular chemistry and molecular (out-of-equilibrium) self-assembly
- Metallo-supramolecular coordination complexes and cages
- Photoswitches, their synthesis, investigation, and their use in supramolecular architectures
- Thermodynamic and kinetic investigation of self-assembled dynamic systems
- Thermodynamic investigation of (out of the ordinary) host-guest equilibria
Our research on dissipative supramolecular systems will contribute to a better understanding of out-of-equilibrium systems in nature and we are working towards practical applications in molecular separation and catalysis.
Funding
We gratefully acknowledge funding from the DFG via the Emmy Noether Programme and the FCI.
