BIGS Chemistry Lecture: Joseph Messinger
Joseph Messinger, Managing Editor ACS:
From Academia to Academic Publishing
Researchers routinely interact with scientific journals every day, but far fewer know how these journals operate behind the scenes. In this talk, I will discuss my career path going from doing labwork as a graduate student and postdoc to my current role in academic publishing, including what it really looks like to work for a journal and how to make that transition. I will also discuss the current state of academic publishing, the major issues affecting the field, and how publishers are responding to them.
